The Roaring Fly was a studio band from Trollhättan that did recordings in the late 70's/early 80's.
During a period of 5 years they taped well over 100 songs, all written by the members of the band.

Typically, Roaring Fly would complete 10-12 new songs per month. Rehearsing was kept down to a minimum and it took about 1-2 hours to finalize a song.
The song was presented by the songwriter either on keyboard or acoustic guitar, then bass and drums were added. Subsequent tracks would include solo guitar, additional percussion and lead vocal.

The songs were in English as well as Swedish. Texts were often critical of society, autobiographical or conveying a flavour of the 1967-1970 period. Musically Roaring fly was leaning towards country-rock and straightforward pop, but there was also a tint of experimental freedom in the sessions.

The members were:

Ronny "Råd" Granlund

Lead vocal, drums, piano,
6-string acoustic guitar

Markus "Ze" Winqvist

Lead vocal, bass, el. rhythm & solo guitar, 12-string acoustic guitar

Ingemar "Pen" Björk

6- string acoustic guitar,
el. rhythm & solo guitar
